Anticipation and Expectation + Book sale

Today, at 10:00 am we meet with the brain cancer team (neurosurgeon, oncologist, and radiologist) at Jefferson University Hospital to review the August 20 MRI and discuss possible treatment protocols in light of the MRI. What do we anticipate? I don’t have any anticipations. If my current physical well-being is any indication the tumor is either stable or has shrunk but we will wait until the MRI images are discussed. Will we do more chemotherapy if recommended? We will save that decision until after we have received Jefferson’s diagnosis and prognosis. A big part of the challenge is the separate protocols that we have implemented that Jefferson does not recognize (vitamin C infusion, clinical nutrition, alternate therapy, etc.). If the tumor has been significantly effected by the alternate therapies, we assume Jefferson will not recognize these and still recommend their “standard of care” protocols. So, again, as we have for 12 months, will be left with challenging decision-making. But God is sufficient and we are grateful for everyone praying. This is an on-going adventure with a great God guiding us. Mark Crocco put me on to a message my John Piper (one of my favorite authors, entitled, “Christ and Cancer.” I have posted the text of the message from Piper’s site and a link to the audio on my Pastor Blog. John Piper has a whole series on suffering. I have about fifteen of them loaded on my iPod.

We continue to have a lot of showings on the house. Our realtor says we may have aprospective buyer but wn’t know until paper work is signed. Getting the house sold
would be a huge relief for us.

Thinking about you and praying as you're considering what God has next for you.
