Brain Cancer Team results

I appreciate so many of you who have prayed and called to express interest in our meeting yesterday with the Brain Cancer Team at Jefferson University Hospital. We met with Dr. David Andrews (neurosurgeon, Dr. Jon Glass, oncolologist, and Dr. Maria Werner-Wasik, radiologist. I would describe the results as a “definite maybe.” It appears that the radiation that I completed July 15 is still having a residual effect on the tumor so the MRI results are not as conclusive as we might like them to be. There is no clear indication that the tumor has either shrunk or has gown. If there is any good news, it is that it has not grown significantly enough for me to be in danger. Their recommended protocol is to do another round of chemotherapy using the same drug Temador, that was used during radiation. It will be a higher dose and used at a less frequency. We will do a follow-up MRI in either late September or October to see what addionaly progress has been made. In the meantime, I continue to feel great, putting in productive days of getting things done to move out of our house, clean out my former office at Southwood, and enjoy family, read, and write blogs. My books sale to clean out the library of books in the Southwood office continues today, 3:30-7:30 pm through Friday.

We will continue to pray. What good news about all the interest in your house! Many people we know haven't even had any showings. As sad as it will be for many of us, it looks like Texas here they come....
