A day of tests

Today I have two major tests at Jefferson University Hospital. In the am I have a MRI to take a visual look at what is happening in my cranium. Some may wonder if there was ever anything worthwhile to find. We are trusting God with whatever are the results which we won’t know until Thursday. Good news would certainly be that there has been no new growth of any tumor material in the right parietal lobe where the tumor has regrown on three occasions. Also, since my neurosurgeon had to leave some tumor on the left side or I would have lost my vision, we are hoping that there is no change in that tumor. My vitamin C nurse has encouraged us to think in terms of “managed cancer care.” She has been at this for fifteen years and has seen numerous cases where cancer has been held in check and therefore managed. All is in God’s hands and we are so appreciative of God’s people praying. Eternity will reveal how God has used all of this.

In the afternoon, I will have a Humphrey’s field vision test. Last September the same test revealed a dark area in my left side. This may be critical for my future driving but certainly has not effected my reading ability. The loss of my reading ability would be a tough test since it is one of my great loves. But God is not only sovereign, but good so as has been the case over these last nine months. I trust Him.

In my read through the Bible schedule, I came across this verse that seems to fit our time and needs.

1Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
