Challenge continues

Yesterday, Wed., we met with our neurosurgeon to hear the results of my Monday MRI. It was not the news we were hoping for. There is an indication that some small cancer modules are present which would be consistent with this type of brain tumor. It is a malicious tumor. Now, before some of you start counting me out (I have already been there), we still are on course with our nutritional plan. I have a another follow-up MRI in a month (first week in January) to see whether there is continued growth. We still have the consulting meeting with Dr. Wallace on Dec 16 unless it can be moved up after my call to her office today. You can check out Dr. Wallace's site at: www.nutritional-solutions.net. I posted it previously, but if you want to hear her take on treating brain tumors with nutrition, check out my posting on October 27.

It has been a tough time since yesterday but not nearly as tough as when we had our follow-up consultation with the chemotherapist and radiologist, Oct. 9. This is a very sobering cancer and the challenge is always before us. People keep asking what they can do. I can't answer that because that's not one of the abilities that I currently possess. In many ways this cancer is an irritant. I don't like all the time it is taking to treat when I should be not only taking care of my family but my church family as well. It is too distracting. It is not that I don't have confidence in what God is doing, but it is still an adjustment with a great deal of earthly uncertainty. I have great hope (firm confidence) in God's good game plan. It is just the unknown that keeps me bowed before Him. I know I am not alone both spiritually and physically. This is a challenging journey.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. (2Co 4:7-10)

Today is another good day because God is good!
